Our Services
Wills and Estate Planning

At White & McCarthy, our attorneys and staff take the time to understand our client’s specific plans and goals before recommending and drafting any documents. Because each client is unique, we do not believe in one-size-fits-all solutions. Instead of assuming your needs, we engage clients in a pre-meeting questionnaire (pdf) that serves as the starting point for our initial consultation. The insight gleaned from our interview presents a clear picture of the specific ways we can best help our clients reach their goals.

White & McCarthy’s comprehensive estate planning services include writing or amending:

  • Wills, codicils and testamentary trusts
  • Revocable and irrevocable living trusts
  • General, limited and special powers of attorney
  • Advance medical directives (including living wills and health care proxies)

Our attorneys provide advice on practical issues related to a client’s documents:

  • Understanding, managing and limiting estate, trust and gift taxation
  • Charitable giving in estate planning
  • Pre-marital and post-marital agreements
  • Retirement planning
  • Long-term care planning

We provide additional business succession planning services for small business owners and investors, including:

  • Partnership agreements
  • Buy-sell agreements
  • Limited liability companies

With very few exceptions, White & McCarthy’s wills and estate planning services involve a flat fee that covers:

  • The client’s initial consultation
  • Drafting and revising the necessary documents
  • Reviewing drafted documents with the client
  • Signing the approved documents
  • Providing advice and assistance regarding suggested asset titling and beneficiary changes that reflect the client’s goals
  • Aligning asset titling and beneficiary designations with the client's goals
